Welcome to: The FREE REGGAE PAGE. We try to help you find YOUR Reggae needs right here.

What is the FREE Reggae Page?

Here you will find (eventually..) FREE reggae sound files, information and reggae links to (what I consider) the BEST FREE RealAudio, midi, & wave files (etc.) of Bob Marley, UB40, Inner Circle, etc. that I can locate. My hope is to quickly help YOU find answers for your curiosities and questions concerning this awesome form of music.

On May 4th of this year (1999) I began a NEW path in the music biz by accepting an "Island" type gig at "BAHAMA BREEZE" (owned by General Mills.. owners of "Red Lobster & Olive Garden" restaurant chains). To cut to the chase, I had to learn a whole new "list" of tunes, which caused me to listen to Reggae, Latino, Ska, Island (i.e., tunes such as The Beach Boys' "Kokomo" as well as ONE hit wonders such as Bertie Higgens' "Key Largo", The Looking Glass' "Brandy" etc. In all I learned about 40 - 50 new (to me) songs in these styles.    But MOST important for the gig is REGGAE!

Reggae music usually requires the big downbeat is the third quarter-note in a 4/4 measure. Normally, this is traditionally where you expect to find kick drum hits. Organ plays chords on the upbeat, and the bass will typically be the most harmonically active part.

Reggae is a musical style and a way of life. The reason I've decided to share some of my reggae collection with you is so that YOU too can learn to appreciate the "up" stroke rhythms of the both the music and the life.
